Get at least 2 in research so you can use the books the game throws at you right off the bat. I've played through twice as a tremere, you really cant go wrong with a melee tremere using Thaumaturgy with blood packs on bosses. You have to *really* want it to go through the game using Thaumaturgy as your primary attack set. The attacks after those 2 I felt just werent worth the high blood costs. Still lower dps than just swinging a weapon I think but it is nice in certain situations. Using those 2 abilities you can purge, 2 quick blood drains and not lose any blood and do a solid bit of damage. It works on anything, costs 1 blood, stuns just about everything for around 5 seconds. The second attack in the line is Blood Purge, which is kick ass. Which would still be workable if the animation was quicker but the entire attack takes about 3-6 seconds depending on how far away the enemy is. The damage is lower than swinging your weapon, it costs 1 blood for 3 blood returned, and you cant move or attack while the blood animation is going or you lose the return blood. Sounds great on paper, but very weak implementation. The first ability is a ranged blood drain and does damage. You start with one point, and it really isnt worth it to go higher than the 2nd point for blood purge. If I choose Tremere, though, what shoul I pump? Thaumaturgy, obviously, but what else is prudent? I can pretty much guess what's good for a Gangrel char.Įh, in all honesty Thaumaturgy is pretty weak and in general a disappointing disc set. What should I go for this time? I'm leaning towards Tremere or Gangrel. A Toreador Camarilla-brown nosing douche. I've played through the game once, when it came out.
